Small great details that make a difference in the day-to-day life of your kitchen.

Layout

Linear kitchen

The ideal solution for narrow kitchens, where the priority is to make the best use of the space in order to organise all work operations as rationally as possible.

Island kitchen

An alternative that places the preparation area on an island, distributing the rest of the work areas around it in a line or "L" shape.

L-shaped kitchen

The most common configuration, as it concentrates the work area and frees up the rest of the kitchen.

Galley kitchen

A layout that allows maximum use of the space by separating the washing and cooking area from the food preparation area.

U-shaped kitchen

A layout that allows maximum use of the space by separating the washing and cooking area from the food preparation area.

Measurements

A minimum distance of 50 cm between the hob and the sink is optimal.

Between the upper cabinets or the lower edge of the hood and the work surface, it is best to leave a space of approximately 50 to 70 cm.

It is recommended to leave a minimum distance of 40 cm on each side of the hob.

The gap between opposing elements in a galley kitchen should be between 100 and 120 cm.

If a breakfast bar is chosen, the height should be between 90 and 100 cm from the floor, to be combined with stools 63 to 74 cm high.

Functionality & safety

Avoid placing drawers in corners so they can be opened easily and do not block circulation.

Avoid placing the hob next to a side wall to prevent it from getting burned or dirty, and to avoid interfering with the work area.

It is preferable to position the oven at height to make it harder for children to access.

If there is a gas water heater, it is recommended to leave a distance of 50 cm from the hob.

Install smoke and gas detectors and always keep a suitable kitchen fire extinguisher within reach.
